Principles of Building Fire Spread

7 hours

Description

“The building is your enemy… know your enemy!” – Frank Brannigan 1918-2006
According to Frank Brannigan, every good firefighter should have a basic understanding of how structures behave during a fire to comprehend fire spread.
In this training, we identify building compartmentation using structural indicators to predict the potential direction of fire spread. We assess the impact of our actions on fire propagation and cover concepts such as “Flow Path,” ventilation control, and several other principles to enhance effectiveness in choosing firefighting tactics.
The 6-hour interactive training is conducted by two experienced instructors.
